Mary Ruffin was named Teacher of the Year for White Oak HIgh School and will represent the Vikings during the 2012 - 2013 school year as TOY.
Mrs. Ruffin is originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina and a graduate of Rock Hill High School the home of the "Bearcats". She attended and graduated from Winthrop University (formerly Winthrop College) with a BS in Chemistry. She spent 14 years working for the forestry company, MeadWestvaco in Summerville, SC where she was a supervisor in a research laboratory. She is married to a retired Navy lieutenant and has four girls. She has been a member of the "viking" staff for the past 11 years.
