  • A small group of students who earned a very high Level 2 on the Math 1 final exam... almost reached the proficiency level, are being offered this first-come, first-served opportunity.
  • This is a chance to have 7 days of math instruction, June 12 - June 20, 8:30 am to Noon... with a new final exam on June 21, 2017.
  • After the exam, with your permission, we are taking the kids to Defy Gravity in Wilmington.
  • This is optional.  Scoring a Level 2 doesn't mean your child didn't pass the overall course itself.  Passing or failing is a matter of the overall grades for all grading periods.  If he or she does better on this exam (June 21), we'll use it as a replacement grade.
  • Limited bus transportation is available.
  • Due to functions at WOHS, we will have to offer the class at Hunters Creek Middle.
  • Registration closes Friday, June 9th...  Call me at WOHS if you have questions.

Dear White Oak Students and Families:

Welcome to the “Principal’s Corner” portion of our school’s website.  As an educator in Onslow County for the past 20 years, I have had the privilege to know the last four principals of this great school.  Mr. Wiggins, Dr. Doyle, Mrs. Bryan and Mrs. Dennis all worked in different ways to build upon the foundation and tradition of excellence in academics, the arts and athletics.  Their success is due to instructional leadership and a combination of dedicated teachers, talented students and supportive parents.  My effort is to continue to lead our school in a direction that allows our kids to learn and achieve.

One of the most important things we can do as a faculty and leadership team is to communicate key information.  If you have difficulty finding what you need, please contact us directly.  There are a variety of ways to communicate with us and find out what is happening at your school.  Please check these digital and social resources:

President Franklin Roosevelt said, “We may not be able to prepare the future for our children, but we can at least prepare our children for the future.”   As an educator, I will work to facilitate the opportunities needed for that preparation.  I want all White Oak students to graduate with what they individually need to be successful in the workforce, college and beyond.  Go Vikes!
